Who’s on your top five all-time singers list? What about current acts? Have you ever wanted to sing like them?

The effect that music has on people will never diminish. Every song evokes an emotion that either speaks to or transcends the listener’s reality.

Music is powerful.

To have a voice like Mariah Carey, Demi Lavato, Ariana Grande, or Chris Brown is a gift. Many people believe that music stars are born, but reports show that is not the case.

Artists like Jennifer Lopez, Lindsey Lohan, and Ashlee Simpson have been very successful, but they aren’t the best singers.

If you’re wondering how that’s possible, consider that these stars were already famous before picking up a mic. So they had the support regardless.

However, if you’re not that fortunate and you want to improve your vocal abilities, here are three things you can do.

1.Sleep more than 8 hours nightly

Studies reveal that Mariah Carey sleeps 15 hours before singing. The star is quoted saying, “I’ve got to sleep for a total of 15 hours to sing the way I want to.”

Scientifically speaking, a lack of sleep makes you exhausted. When you’re exhausted you don’t have enough energy to use your voice, so you end up straining.

Nobody likes listening to a strained voice.

Are you getting enough sleep? More sleep may give you the voice of your dreams!

2. Sleep in a steam room

This sounds weird, right? Everything is strange until someone successful tries it. Mariah Carey spends three of her 15 sleep hours in a room full of humidifiers.

So it’s not technically a steam room, but it does give the desired effect.

But Mariah isn’t the only singer doing this, Luther Vandross recommended it.

Yes, the Luther Vandross.

3. Use an asthma breathing device

This may be the wildest of the three, but its effectiveness is grounded in science. One thing that singers struggle with is mucus.

This is mainly because the body naturally produces it, so there is no way to get rid of it all.

But an asthma breathing device helps you to keep it at a minimum.

The device is a catalyst for mucus expulsion. It stimulates your body’s natural expulsion mechanisms so that mucus in your lungs and around your vocal cords becomes loose and agitated.

When this happens, it becomes easy for you to get it out naturally.

Not such a crazy idea after all, right?

There are many more things that can help you on your musical journey. These three may serve as a foundation for your future exploits.
